Ready to spin your first pot or get back on the wheel? Join Spinning Beginnings — a 6-week journey from your first touch of clay to your first masterpiece!
Course Overview
• Week 1: First Steps — Finding the center + studio orientation
• Week 2: Building Skills — Pulling your first cylinders
• Week 3: Shaping Up — Trimming, handles, and finishing
• Week 4: Finding Control —Mindful throwing techniques
• Week 5: Exploring Form — Shaping your pieces
• Week 6: Final Touch — Glazing your beautiful pieces
This class is ideal for first-time and returning potters at a beginner level, built to set students up to be confident and informed potters ready to join a community studio. Your instructor will cover pottery basics, focusing on the cylindrical form, with added knowledge along the way.
Classes are limited to just 8 students — so you’ll always get personal attention and enjoy a cozy, semi-private atmosphere (and trust us — when learning hands-on skills like pottery, that makes all the difference!). No experience needed — just bring your hands, curiosity, and a little love for clay!
Have some experience? No problem, this class is great for refining existing skills or getting back on the wheel after a break. Our instructor will work with you to use and improve your current skillset.
IMPORTANT INFO: Classes must have a minimum of 4 students signed up to run.
Long nails will make your throwing journey much more challenging. For best class experience it is encouraged to remove long nails for the class duration.
